A FEW WORDS FROM DAD
ABOUT FOSTER BOYS

My wife and I grew up in Delaware County (Haverford Township). We moved to East Fallowfield in 1979 and raised 3 boys: Tommy Dave and Joey, who all graduated from the Coatesville Area School District.

I am an electrical contractor on the Main Line and Mom is a full-time mother and homemaker. Throughout our lives, we always talked about opening a restaurant, but could never find the time.

Growing up, the boys would occasionally accompany me on my jobs. Lunchtime was always in adventure! I’d take them to one place for the best hoagie, another for the best cheesesteak, and still another place for the best pizza.

Maybe this is part of the reason that my sons always had part-time jobs in the food industry. My oldest son, Tommy, took the business seriously and the restaurant business became his career. Over the years he has worked in many aspects of the industry, from wholesale, to fine dining, and eventually to his last stint, managing a pizza place for 15 years.

When we finally decided to open a restaurant of our own, it was because of all the years we kept imagining being “able to find the best of everything under one roof!” The best hoagies, best cheesesteaks, the best pork sandwiches, and the best pizza, all in one place! This is still our mission and we strive to achieve it every day.

After just one short year since opening Foster Boys, we have been voted “The Best Pizza in Downingtown” by members of the community, as well as being voted “The Best Hoagie and Deli Sandwich in Chester County” by a Daily Local News poll. We are still in our infancy, but we believe these are signs that we are on the right track to being the best!

Come in and decide for yourself or stop by and see us, even if it’s just to say “hi!” The sign on our wall says, “Enter as strangers, leave as friends,” and we really mean it.
